THE LATIN FUNKTION are an eight-piece instrumental Jazz Funk band playing originals and covers with a Latin Jazz, Funk & Fusion feel. Based on the south coast and with an ever-growing popularity, The Latin Funktion are proving to be a popular band all over Kent, gaining an ever-increasing following and demand.
With a mixture of band members influenced by various styles, they create a sound and groove that is totally unique. They have recently recorded their first CD which has proved very popular and they are currently working on material for their next one.
They have taken all the styles and influences from the eight members of the band and produced a totally unique Funk-based sound with underlying Jazz and Latin & Rock grooves. Their influences are Cannonball Adderly, Herbie Hancock, JTQ, Lalo Schifrin, Micheal Brecker, Maceo Parker and Eddie Van Halen, to name a few, but anything with a groove really, oh yeah and 70's TV Themes ...oh how they love them!
They have their own PA equipment, lighting and public liability insurance and will travel anywhere nationally or internationally. They can cater for corporate functions, private parties and festivals.
