CRIES was formed in Turin in Italy in May 2004.  In the autumn of 2005 they started a collaboration with Alkemist-Fanatix, an Italian-based European management and promotion agency.  In 2006 they signed a publishing contract with the Incipit Recording.  2007 sees the release of their first album under the independent DeePressure Records label.

Since 2006 the band has been busying itself with rehearsing and promoting rather than being on the road, and are now ready to take themselves out and about for audiences to enjoy their music, which includes a tour of the UK planned for the latter half of 2007.

The music of Cries is best described by the Italian "amoremorte", meaning literally "love and death", which in musical terms translates as rock, gothic and dark.

The band’s current line-up includes Elsket (vocals and guitar) and Dunkelheit (drums), with Gianluca on keyboard.
